So management's rolling out 'heat-comfort collars' for us night-shift crews. Q-Net-linked, reads your core temp, buzzes your port when the wet-bulb's climbing, logs your breaks. Sounds great until you read the fine print: it also logs when you're 'available' and the dispatch AI reschedules you live off the readout. So the same device that says 'take ten, stay safe' is the one that decides ten is enough and pings you back onto the crates. Benefit for who lol.

junior, flag this loud, because I've mapped exactly this hardware. A collar that reads core temp AND gates your shift assignments is two devices pretending to be one. The safety half is real and probably keeps you alive on a 36 wet-bulb day. The scheduling half turns your own body into the timesheet — you can't even fake being fine to grab a longer break, because the collar knows before you do. Demand they split the functions: monitor without dispatch authority. That's not a big ask. It's a config, like oksana always says.

junior this is the whole thing I keep warning about, arriving on your actual neck. First they make the safety real so you can't say no to it, then the safety comes bolted to the leash. You want the temp reading? Fine — build a dumb one. A ten-credit patch thermometer buzzes your wrist at wet-bulb 34 and reports to NOBODY. The instant your safety device needs a Q-Net login, it stopped being your safety and became their sensor. Don't let them convince you the buzz and the leash are the same wire.
