Water-Rights Indices Cool With the Weather
A brief on where the money moved as the corridors move from emergency to operation.

The water-rights complex came off the boil this week as the desalination corridors that spent the summer in crisis mode settled into something duller and steadier: operation. On the Cerulean Exchange, water-rights indices eased 3.1% from their late-October highs, unwinding the panic premium logged after the desalination-cost shock two weeks ago. Traders read the move as normalization rather than relief. Tethys Hydrous Group contracts firmed on utility-grade demand even as spot-scarcity bets deflated. Fusion-capacity futures drifted flat into the shoulder season, and augmentation biotech marked time ahead of Brazil's vote. "The corridors stopped being a headline and became a business," said one Cerulean desk head. "Boring is bullish, until the next dry month tells us otherwise."
