Two days after Wednesday's delivered-cost shock, the Cerulean Exchange spent the week's close doing what markets do after a jolt — sorting the spasm from the level. Water-rights indices held most of their gains rather than snapping back, a sign the desks read the shock as a step up, not a spike to be faded. Tethys Hydrous Group contracts settled into a new, higher range on utility-grade demand. The tell was in the forward curve: traders began pricing winter, when temperate-north heating will bid against desalination for the same fusion baseload, and the contracts for the cold months firmed hardest of all. "October repriced the input," said one Cerulean desk head. "November through February is now the trade — because that's when the power fight is real." Fusion-capacity futures firmed alongside. The consensus at the close: the panic is over, the level is higher, and the season that decides whether it holds hasn't started yet.
