Concordat Ministers Convene on Corridor Costs as Migration Passes 120 Million
With registered climate migrants climbing through 120 million, the Council's autumn session turns from shelter to solvency.

GENEVA — The Global Concordat Council opened its autumn coordination session this week under a number nobody in the chamber disputed and few could comfortably meet: registered climate migrants now past 120 million and climbing, the pace that Hearth Relief International warned of earlier this month as heat corridors widen. Secretary-General Ingrid Halvorsen framed the session less as a debate over whether to shelter people than over how to keep paying for it, as the summer's desalination and relief bills come due at once. Delegates from three water-stressed continents pressed for the Nairobi Congress's $9-trillion decade package to disburse faster; finance ministers countered that a package spread over ten years cannot be spent in one autumn. Passage Trust, which manages resettlement corridors, told the floor its shelter network is running months ahead of its funding. "The corridors held this summer," one Passage Trust delegate said. "Holding is not the same as funding."
