Aurora Fusion Works reports steady baseload into the cold months, but the reconnected grid's margins remain thin where relief camps draw hardest.

GENEVA — Fusion is supplying a little over 31 percent of the reconnected grid this month, Aurora Fusion Works confirmed, holding the gain its August reactor sync delivered even as heating demand rises across the northern hemisphere. The figure, steady since the plant came online in early August, matters most at the margins, where corridor settlements strain local feeders. In one Passage Trust camp outside Tahoua drawing power from a fusion-fed spur, engineer Miriam Achebe watches load curves that leave almost no headroom. "Baseload is the calm number," she said. "The camp's evening peak is the number that keeps me here past midnight." Aurora chief executive Emeka Okonkwo cautioned against reading the third-of-the-grid milestone as a solved problem: "A steady share of a strained grid is still a strained grid." Fusion's rise has not displaced the scramble for every marginal kilowatt as the season turns and twelve billion people ask more of a system already running warm.
