Micro-Fusion Towns Rode Out the Summer. Now They're Selling the Blueprint

The settlements that never browned out at peak have become an export, one home reactor at a time.

Micro-Fusion Towns Rode Out the Summer. Now They're Selling the Blueprint — The Lost Archive, 2124

TAMALE — The pitch used to sound like a boast and now sounds like a spec sheet. In a cluster of eleven towns across northern Ghana that spent the hottest weeks of the year at full power while the regional grid buckled around them, the local cooperatives have stopped explaining that micro-fusion works and started explaining how to buy it. Delegations came all summer — from the Sahel corridors, from two Brazilian states, from a Karachi water authority — to walk streets where the desalination pumps never stopped and the clinic freezers never thawed. The cooperatives now sell a package: the container-scale reactor, the debt structure, the maintenance rota, the hard-won knowledge of what breaks first. "We are not selling a miracle. We are selling a Tuesday when nothing goes dark," said cooperative chair Abena Osei, who has signed four export agreements since August. Aurora Fusion Works builds the units; the towns sell the thing harder to package — the confidence that a small grid, tended by the people who depend on it, can outlast a summer that broke the big ones. The blueprint travels faster than the reactors do.
