Somaform's Neural-Interface Review Stays Open, and Contested

LAGOS — The safety review of Somaform Augmetics' neural-interface line is still open, still contested, and — regulators repeated this week — still without a verdict. Founder Julian Morrow, an augmentation-rights advocate, frames the delay as caution weaponized against progress; the review board frames it as diligence owed to the roughly one in twenty humans now carrying some augmentation. Between them stand the interface's actual users, like Lagos logistics coordinator Chidi Nwosu, who has worn a Somaform unit for three years and wants neither a recall nor a rubber stamp. "I want to know it is safe, and I want to keep it," he said. Nine months into the inquiry, the board has cleared no line and pulled none, and has announced no date to conclude. Nwosu clocked into his shift this morning wearing the same unit he wore the morning before.
