LONDON — Money is following the drought. On the Cerulean Exchange this week, shares in the Tethys Hydrous Group and its desalination peers climbed against a flat broad market, as investors positioned for a warm-belt autumn that few expect to bring relief. The logic is straightforward: with the global mean anomaly holding at +2.8°C and reservoirs still falling across three continents, water is the commodity whose demand does not soften. "Demand for water does not fall with the seasons, so the desks are pricing it as a floor, not a spike," said a Castellan Capital infrastructure underwriter who finances relief megaprojects and asked not to be named ahead of Concordat disbursements. The rally was narrow — energy and augmentation names were mixed — and analysts caution that a utility trading on scarcity is a barometer of hardship, not health. Tethys closed up 4.1 percent on the day; the broad index moved 0.3 percent.
