The Kronos Energy Syndicate said Thursday that its quantum-extraction facility near the Thwaites Glacier remains "within all operational tolerances," responding to a peer-reviewed survey that recorded faster-than-expected basal movement across the sector. Glaciologists have publicly described the Thwaites shelf as unstable for over a year, and Kronos maintains a standing evacuation protocol and a sensor lattice it calls the densest on the continent. Critics on the Congress floor questioned whether any industrial site belongs on a failing shelf at all. The syndicate's chief engineer, Lukas Prenn, was unbothered: "We measure that ice more closely than anyone alive. It has no secrets from us."
